The Technical Recruiter focuses on sourcing and hiring critical and specialized engineering talent, including electrical design engineers, small electronics design engineers, process engineers, and test engineers. This role partners closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand technical requirements, develop targeted sourcing strategies, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle from intake to offer, while ensuring a positive candidate experience and supporting new product development and engineering growth initiatives.

This role sits within a large organization recognized as a leader in space and defense technology innovation. The Technical Recruiter reports directly to leadership within the business unit rather than through a central HR team, ensuring dedicated support for engineering hiring needs. The onboarding process typically takes a minimum of three weeks and includes pre employment checks, citizenship verification due to ITAR regulations and the defense division, and cybersecurity training. There are regulatory restrictions on hiring citizens from certain countries, and a list of restricted countries is provided internally to guide compliant hiring practices. The recruiter has access to LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruitment tools to support sourcing and talent pipeline development. The preferred work location is Waterloo, with some flexibility for candidates in the Greater Toronto Area who can be on-site regularly. The role is primarily office-based, with an expectation of being in the office four days per week. There is flexibility for one remote day per week, generally limited to two such days per month, and this remote day cannot consistently be scheduled on Mondays or Fridays.
