An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive Project Manager to join the Projects Team of an established and growing facilities management and building services business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of facilities, refurbishment, construction and building services projects, managing each project from initial instruction and planning through to completion and final handover.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining office-based project management with regular client and site visits. You will coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, budgets and programmes while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required commercial and quality standards.

  • Manage multiple live projects from initial instruction, planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
  • Develop project programmes, delivery plans, budgets and key project milestones.
  • Coordinate directly employed engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other project resources.
  • Organise labour, materials, plant, equipment and site access to ensure works progress efficiently.
  • Monitor project expenditure, including labour, materials and subcontractor costs, ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets.
  • Attend client meetings, pre-start meetings, site inspections, progress meetings and project handovers.
  • Monitor project progress against programme and proactively identify and resolve potential delays or delivery issues.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing clear updates on progress, timescales, variations and project requirements.
  • Manage variations and additional works, ensuring changes are accurately recorded, costed and approved.
  • Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and value for money.
  • Monitor workmanship and project quality, ensuring snagging and defects are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company procedures, relevant regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including budgets, progress reports, site photographs, variations and completion records.
  • Work closely with Projects, Operations and Engineering teams to ensure effective mobilisation, delivery and handover.
  • Build strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for additional works and repeat business.
The Successful Candidate
  • Previous experience in a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Contracts Manager or similar project delivery role.
  • Experience within facilities management, building services, M&E, construction, refurbishment or small works projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience managing several projects or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Good commercial awareness with experience monitoring project budgets and controlling costs.
  • Ability to produce, understand and manage programmes of works.
  • Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and site-based teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines.
  • Confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • A proactive and practical approach to resolving project and site issues.
  • Good understanding of health & safety requirements within a construction or building services environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider Projects and Operations team.

This position would suit someone looking to develop their career within a growing building services and facilities management business, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of projects while working closely with clients and operational teams.

The role offers a mixture of office-based project management and site-based responsibility, providing excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle.
