If you are passionate about Data and Analytics and have a knack for Problem Solving, you will enjoy working as a Data Analyst in the Commercial Lines Data Monitoring and Implementation team. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced data insights environment, where you will use your skills and tools to collect, compile, and analyze the organization’s data. You will participate in projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative, requiring knowledge and specialization in data analytics. You will support the development and implementation of business plans and business intelligence; monitor business performance; set targets; identify opportunities to improve data-driven decision-making; and conduct data analysis for various initiatives, including rate and product changes. You will provide recommendations on the planning and execution of various data deliverables, based on a comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and all its lines of business. You will act as a subject matter expert, technical coach, and data validator for the team daily. As a Data Analyst, you'll work with stakeholders throughout the company and must communicate and deliver your results efficiently. Effective communication in both French and English is key to this position. More specifically, you will be required to:  

  • Support business and other areas and optimize data performance and scalability with data extraction, validation, and analysis using complex queries, scripts, and algorithms data 

  • Identify, extract, analyze and interpret data to support decision-making 

  • Design and implement data models and structures that meet the business requirements and adhere to the data architecture standards and principles 

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows that automate data ingestion, processing, and delivery using various tools and platforms 

  • Follow the policies, standards, and best practices for data management and ensure compliance with data governance and security protocols 

  • Perform data quality checks and issue resolution using advanced data cleansing and transformation techniques 

  • Evaluate inquiries for data extraction, confirm the integrity and examine the data, offer insights and suggestions to the final users 

  • Represent the data team in various meetings, presentations, and events 

  • Examine and resolve issues with data 

  • Leverage skills in data manipulation and interpretation using various statistical and analytical methods 

  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders across various projects to ensure effective business intelligence and coding solutions.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Business or in a related field   

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Proficient in SQL and/or SAS, Python and R 

  • Proficiency in business analytics 

  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI and Denodo 

  • Knowledge of the Insurance and Financial Services industry
