
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution plan for the packaging equipment and automation portfolio. They will manage vendor relationships, financial performance, and category growth while serving as the subject matter expert for the product line.
Candidates should have 10-15 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or product management within B2B distribution or manufacturing. A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with strong analytical skills and experience in leading major contract negotiations.
Job Purpose:
Our Senior Product Manager is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution plan for a highly complex packaging equipment & automation product portfolio. This role must define the Go-to-Market strategy for their portfolio by establishing: Where to Play, How to Win, and what Capabilities & Tracking are needed to deliver against their specific financial plan.Job Responsibilities:
● Manage all aspects of assortment and vendor management including: go-to-market strategy, market trend analysis, programs to create demand, financials, cross-functional intercompany and supplier relationships, product selection, negotiation and deal closure, guidance for selling organization.Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● Lead product and vendor strategy, category performance, supplier negotiations, promotions, and profitability initiatives. Drive packaging automation portfolio growth and financial results for a leading specialty packaging and distribution company. Not an IT position.
● Role will establish: Where to Play, How to Win, and what Capabilities & Tracking are needed to achieve their specific financial targets.
● Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Packaging Equipment & Automation.
● 5-10 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Sourcing, Product Management, or Commercial Strategy within large-scale B2B distribution or manufacturing environments.
● Experience owning senior and executive supplier relationships; optimizing portfolio assortments; leading major contract negotiations; and serving as the category source of truth for market, competitive, and industry insights strongly preferred.
● Proven ability to operate as a category P&L owner and lead through influence at enterprise scale is highly preferred.
● Demonstrated ability to present and clearly define sourcing strategy to varied audiences.
● Metrics driven: strong analytical skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
