Monroe Harding has served Nashville’s most vulnerable youth for over 130 years — children in foster care and transitional housing who need stability, safety, and a place that feels like home. We’re looking for a skilled, self-directed Facilities Technician who takes pride in their craft and wants their work to mean something.

This is a full-scope role — electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, vehicles, and grounds. You’ll own your work order queue, conduct property inspections, coordinate vendors, and make sure every safety system is up to standard.

As our Facilities Maintenance Technician, you are an essential part of our team, ensuring that our facilities reflect the respect and value we have for every individual who walks through our doors.

What You'll Do:

• Handle daily work orders across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
• Inspect and maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and agency vehicles
• Coordinate outside vendors and community partners when jobs go beyond in-house scope
• Keep fire, safety, and security systems compliant and operational
• Maintain outdoor areas and handle general custodial needs as required

What We Provide:

• $23/hr. to start — more based on experience
• Monday–Friday schedule with daytime business hours, and occasional emergency availability
• Health, Dental, Vision insurance
• Paid Time Off: up to 28 days during your first year including PTO, holidays and personal days.
• Directly reporting to senior leadership

Requirements

What You Need: 

• 1+ years hands-on maintenance experience across multiple trades
• Ability to manage your own priorities independently
• Good communication — you’ll work with staff, vendors, and leadership
• Comfort working in an environment serving youth who’ve experienced trauma
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
• We serve Nashville’s vulnerable youth. A thorough background check and drug screen is required for all hires.  Help us maintain a safe haven for Nashville’s youth.

WORK SCHEDULE & HOURS: 

This position works 40 hours each week, typically Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours for emergencies.
