Opportunity Overview 

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for data, analysis and problem-solving? We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Strategy and Data team and help deliver high-quality insight that supports decision-making across the University.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical, reporting and data management skills in a supportive environment while working with real institutional data. You'll contribute to reports, dashboards and analysis that inform operational and strategic decisions, while gaining experience with modern analytical tools and techniques. We're looking for someone who is curious, evidence-driven and keen to build a career in data and analytics.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports using institutional data to support decision-making across the University.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement, translating findings into clear and accessible insights.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports and management information tools.
  • Assist with data preparation, validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the University to improve reporting processes, solve business problems and develop analytical capability.

 

About the Department

In the Strategy Directorate, we play a central role in supporting the University of Salford's strategic ambitions through evidence-based decision-making, planning and performance management. Our Directorate’s responsibilities include the University's strategic and operational reporting, providing insight that informs decision-making at all levels of the institution, and well as strategic planning, policy analysis, corporate risk management and statutory returns.

The analytics team delivers data, reporting and insight to support planning, performance monitoring and continuous improvement. We are committed to developing modern analytics approaches, improving access to high-quality management information and helping colleagues use data effectively to drive positive outcomes for students and the wider University community.

As a Data Analyst, you'll join a small, specialist team with the opportunity to learn from experienced analysts while contributing to meaningful projects that make a real impact across the University.
