The Position:

Β 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support the H-53 variants program at NAS Patuxent River. In this role, you will perform quantitative financial and investment analysis to optimize program funding streams.Β 


You will serve as a key technical operator, utilizing defense accounting frameworks to track execution data, evaluate program budgets, and ensure fiscal compliance, directly impacting the lifecycle capabilities of naval heavy-lift aviation assets.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data-driven quantitative analyses of financial information, asset structures, and funding trends affecting the investment and procurement programs of the acquisition office.
  • Formulate, monitor, and manage detailed program spend plans, tracking target milestones against real-world commitments, obligations, and expenditures.
  • Evaluate and track diverse Navy appropriation types (such as APN, RDT&E, and O&M,N) to guarantee total regulatory compliance and optimal funding alignment.
  • Leverage defense enterprise systems to input, extract, and reconcile financial data, translating raw metrics into actionable status reports for team leaders.
  • Assess accounting reports for completeness, flag variances or execution anomalies, and assist senior analysts in constructing resource allocation forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budget tracking, or data-driven asset management performing the functional duties described above.
  • Desired Systems & Domain Expertise:
    • Hands-on proficiency utilizing Navy ERP (NERP) for financial tracking and reporting.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of diverse DoN Appropriation Types and federal procurement cycles.
    • Proven experience in building and adjusting defensive program Spend Plans.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical reasoning capabilities, intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and precise professional communication skills.
