FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm, overtime and weekends expected

Position Summary

The Class A Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting rental equipment to customers and job sites both locally and out-of-town. The Truck Driver should be able to perform all duties of delivering rental equipment in all weather conditions, regardless of the time of day and within the confines of the law. Prior training and/or experience with similar commercial equipment, experience driving flat-beds, RGN/lowboy, dovetail trailers, is preferred. The CDL Class A Truck Driver is heavy haul driver position responsible for transporting a wide variety of oversized equipment.

Key Responsibilities

· Fully understand how to operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle

· Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.

· Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.

· Transport equipment from the place of origin to assigned destination

· Ensure contents are properly secured on the truck to prevent breakage or damage

· Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations

· Perform inspections of vehicle prior to and following each trip

· Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean

· Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)

· Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered

· Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs

· Adhere to company rules and regulations

· Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions

· Comply DOT regulations, observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations 

· Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

· Proficient in oral and written communication skills

· Pass drug test and background check

· Ability to work nights and weekends

Education & Experience

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum of 2 years industry experience preferred

· 1-3 years commercial driving experience

License & Certification

· Class A CDL with acceptable driving record

· Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

· AWP/Forklift Certifications

· OSHA 10

Working Conditions

This position is performed primarily on the road/highway and on various job sites. Employees must be able to work safely on uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, mud, and other environmental conditions typical of heavy equipment and construction operations. The position requires the ability to drive during daytime and nighttime hours and in all weather conditions as needed. Drivers must maintain constant situational awareness in dynamic work environments, remaining alert to the activities of employees, contractors, pedestrians, stationary equipment, and moving vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure safe operations. Frequent walking on uneven or unstable surfaces, including natural ground, is required. Employees must be able to safely climb on and off trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment, as well as access elevated work areas using steps, ladders, or handholds. The use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times in accordance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.

· Prolonged standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling, repetitive wrist and hand movements, hearing and seeing (depth perception and peripheral vision)

· Standing for long periods of time

· Sitting for long periods of time

· Work outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold

· Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts

· Frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles

· Must be able to safely climb various types of ladders

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

· Must be able to climb on and off trucks, cranes, and heavy mobile equipment safely
