Kaleris is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Master Terminal (MTN) team. Customer MTN environments are on-prem today, run either by the customer themselves or under JADE's own managed service, and our DevOps team is the technical authority customers and JADE lean on for installation guidance, release/patch cycles, environment migrations, and troubleshooting. In parallel, Kaleris is standing up its own hosted environments in Azure to better support the development and QA teams. This is backed by the adoption of JadeGit to manage Jade's combined source-and-data nature through a modern Git-based workflow, Terraform/Spacelift-managed Azure infrastructure, and Dev/QA and Production Kubernetes (AKS) clusters hosting MTN's newer web apps and internal tooling. This role suits someone equally comfortable advising on a Windows Server/IIS certificate problem on a customer's on-prem box and writing Terraform for an Azure Kubernetes cluster, with room to grow as Kaleris' own hosted footprint expands. 

Responsibilities  

• Own and evolve the Jade Git workflow / GitHub Actions toolchain that validates, merges, and deploys JADE schema/class changes with quality gates.

• Build and maintain IaC for MTN cloud infrastructure using Terraform via Spacelift on Azure, including the Dev/QA and Production Kubernetes (AKS) clusters used for containerized MTN web apps and internal tooling, and the growing set of Kaleris-hosted MTN environments.

• Assist and advise customers (and JADE, where they hold the managed service) on their on-prem JADE Master Terminal environments — installation guidance, IIS/WebPortal/certificate configuration, monthly release and patch cycles, and instance copy/migration (e.g. PROD → UAT).

• Design, test, and execute backup, restore, and disaster-recovery procedures for Kaleris-hosted JADE environments (e.g. Azure Storage-backed backups, restore validation), and advise customers/JADE on DR readiness for on-prem environments.

• Implement and maintain security and compliance tooling across the MTN SDLC — primarily BlackDuck (SCA) & Wiz (SAST/vulnerability management).

• Integrate observability and alerting for MTN systems — Sumo Logic log/app/infra monitoring, PagerDuty.

• Collaborate with the JADE application team on schema/class changes, and with the broader MTN product team, QA, and Professional Services to plan releases, troubleshoot production issues, and document/knowledge-share operational runbooks.

• Carry personal responsibility for high-quality changes delivered in an agile manner.
   

Requirements

• Minimum 4-6 years of DevOps/SRE/platform engineering experience, ideally including support of a legacy or on-prem enterprise application alongside modern cloud infrastructure.

• Hands-on Windows Server administration, including IIS, Windows services, and certificate management.

• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines), including writing custom automation (TypeScript/JavaScript or PowerShell/Python) that integrates with proprietary or legacy tooling.

• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, and familiarity with GitOps-style deployment tooling (Spacelift, Argo CD).

• Container orchestration experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.

• Experience with Azure, including storage, networking, and identity (Azure Entra / OAuth2).

• Demonstrated backup/restore and disaster-recovery experience for production systems.

• Strong full-stack troubleshooting ability — from network/VPN connectivity, through app-server and IIS logs, to database/schema-level issues.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) and a willingness to adopt AI-driven workflows to boost efficiency across development, automation, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Fluent in English; comfortable working with a team spread across India, New Zealand, and Australia, and occasional off-hours work.

 Additional skills and experience

• Direct experience with JADE, or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn a proprietary object-database platform with a schema/class-based deployment model.

• Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling (BlackDuck, Wiz, Burp Suite) and monitoring platforms (Sumo Logic, PagerDuty, or OTEL-compatible tooling).

• Experience with OpenVPN CloudConnexa or similar site-to-site/dev VPN access solutions.

• Exposure to engineering metrics frameworks (Jellyfish, DORA) and Jira-driven Agile/epic planning.
