Director of Finance

At Cryptic Vector, financial strategy is mission-critical. As our Director of Finance, you will play a key role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's mission.

Responsibilities:

• Contractual and Program Financial Management: Collaborate with project managers and program teams to provide financial guidance on contract negotiations, pricing, and project financial performance. Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Contractual and Program Financial Management: Develop tools to allow project managers and program teams to access financial information to manage their programs.
• Financial System Management: Lead efforts to effectively and accurately set up projects and contracts in financial systems.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies. Present financial information to executive leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, and conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Accounting Close: Manage all aspects of month-end close as it relates to direct programs, including all customer invoicing, revenue recognition, subcontractor and other direct cost accruals.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards, particularly those  related to defense contracting.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Understand and effectively manage indirect rate variances and impacts on contract financial management for cost reimbursable type contracts.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Support DCAA and external financial statement audit engagements.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and action necessary collection attempts on customer receivables; support cash forecasting for the business.
• Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on defense contracting.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within the defense industry.
• Strong understanding of government regulations and compliance requirements for defense contractors.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a defense contracting environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
