The Senior Sales Manager develops assigned market segments with a strong focus on generating new business and maximizing hotel revenue. Working closely with the General Manager, Regional Director of Sales, and Regional Revenue Manager, this position creates and executes sales plans, builds lasting client relationships, and helps the hotel achieve revenue and market-share goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and prepare proposals, negotiations, contracts, and BEOs.
  • Prospect for new business through calls, outside appointments, networking, market research, and available sales tools.
  • Develop and maintain corporate, group, local negotiated rate, and other assigned accounts.
  • Accurately document sales activities, accounts, bookings, and meeting space in the hotel’s sales management system.
  • Meet or exceed established prospecting, outside sales, and revenue-production goals.
  • Participate in local business and tourism organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce or Convention and Visitors Bureau.
  • Coordinate promotions, pricing recommendations, forecasts, budgets, and sales strategies with hotel and regional leadership.
  • Maintain regular client follow-up and monitor market and economic trends.
  • Attend required company, brand, and industry training and complete special projects as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Previous hotel sales, sales coordination, or hotel operations experience is preferred. 
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, Best Western, IHG, focused-service, full-service, or extended-stay hotels is beneficial. 
  • Candidates must possess strong communication, organization, negotiation, financial-analysis, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with Delphi.fdc, STS, or similar CRM systems is preferred.


Physical & Scheduling Requirements

  • This on-site position requires a valid driver’s license, frequent local sales calls, occasional weekend work, and periodic overnight travel. 
  • Candidates must be able to lift or carry up to 30 pounds and push or pull up to 60 pounds unassisted. 
  • Honesty, trustworthiness, and successful completion of applicable security clearances are required.
