We are hiring electrical engineers to join our EE team, which develops the electrical and embedded systems that power this work.  We are looking for people who excel at hands-on development and troubleshooting and can help turn designs into reliable, working systems. You do not need equal expertise in PCB design and firmware development; your responsibilities will reflect the focus of your position.

We will consider candidates at Levels I, II, and III for these positions. Responsibilities, technical independence, and leadership expectations will reflect your experience and the level of the position.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your position’s focus and experience level, your work may include:

  • Represent the Electrical Engineering team on multiple, interdisciplinary spaceflight projects.
  • Develop/assist with technical design documentation (requirements, diagrams, experiment protocols, etc.) and execute on the project electrical systems accordingly.
  • Implement and verify electrical systems through various tests along the project lifecycle. Develop associated test plans and action plans based on results.
  • Adhere to functional team quality assurance practices to ensure high quality EE products.
  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering representative for spaceflight projects by leading electrical integration and assisting with build, testing, checkout, and quality assurance.
  • Take initiative to coordinate inter-project team communication to solve project issues as they arise and ensure success on assigned projects.
  • Participate in external stakeholder and internal team communication in a professional manner.
  • Identify improvements in standard project electrical systems to improve reliability, usability, and scalability.
  • Lead and/or assist with IRAD projects when assigned.
  • Continually review, learn, and discuss with other team members about applicable NASA safety requirements and regulations that apply to electrical engineering designs for spaceflight projects.
  • Research existing industry electrical engineering platforms that could positively impact current or future company designs.
  • Travel to support customer or partner projects and launches.

  • Relevant skills and hands-on experience building, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting Electronics Hardware and/or Embedded Systems, with depth appropriate to the position level
  • Electronics hardware: Hands-on hardware integration and testing including sensor selection and interfaces, cable and connector design, electrical safety, system integration (PCBS, sensors, actuators, mechanical interfaces, firmware, etc), and general engineering troubleshooting and verification techniques
  • Firmware / Embedded systems: C/C++ programming, assembly languages, RTOS, microcontroller architectures, device drivers (sensors, comm modules, storage, actuators, etc.), debugging tools, version control, bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms, and common buses and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, USB, Ethernet, etc)
  • Understanding of electrical safety, design verification, and engineering quality practices
  • Strong communication, multidisciplinary teamwork, and technical coordination skills

Helpful Experience

  • Space industry experience is helpful at any level
