Design the hardware that carries the mission

At Sovera, the connection between engineering and impact is tangible. The hardware you create will help turn our ambition for sovereign satellite internet into a working network.

Solve structural, thermal, and electromechanical challenges across mechanisms, optical assemblies, avionics, structures, solar arrays, and batteries.

What you’ll do

·       Own hardware from early concepts through production and orbital service.

·       Define requirements and improve system tradeoffs through iterative design and analysis.

·       Simplify parts and processes, prevent assembly errors, and strengthen manufacturing consistency.

·       Coordinate suppliers and production teams around cost, complexity, and quality.

·       Validate designs through environmental and performance tests.

·       Manage delivery through design, assembly, and launch; remain accountable for outcomes.

What you’ll bring

·       An engineering bachelor’s degree.

·       CAD and finite element analysis experience.

·       One year or more in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing; internships count.

Experience that will help you stand out

·       Engineering master’s degree or related technical qualification.

·       Three years in mechanical design/analysis; two years on complex mechanical projects, ideally leading.

·       3D CAD, particularly NX; GD&T; structural behavior and failure analysis.

·       Assembly ownership through production ramp-up.

·       Initiative, organization, and clear communication.

·       Materials, fabrication, and coatings selection.

·       Programming; PCB/PCBA mechanical collaboration.

·       Experimental design, statistical process control, and process qualification.

Why Sovera

You’ll help build a system whose purpose extends beyond connectivity. For our partners, sovereign control means having a say in how essential communications infrastructure serves their country—and maintaining control of their data and customers.

Our team brings experience building LEO constellations, including some of the world’s most advanced broadband internet systems. We’re applying that experience across the full system: thousands of satellites, advanced communications payloads, open reference designs for consumer receivers, and the software that connects them.

For a mechanical engineer, that means building the physical systems that carry our mission into orbit. You’ll see your decisions take shape in hardware and help turn wider internet access into a service people can depend on.
