Project Manager / Chef de projet

Mandate Overview:

• The client is looking for a project manager who owns the entire delivery: project plan, deliverables, budget, schedule, risks and deliverable approval. The role places the person at the centre of a broad ecosystem (sponsor, managers, contribution leads, external integrator) and gives them authority over resource change requests. Reporting goes directly to the sponsor and the steering committee, which requires a level of political acumen explicitly named in the mandate. What sets this mandate apart from a generic project manager role is the note on financial knowledge: derivatives, accounting and financial risk, at a basic level, combined with a software integration and platform change project. PMP, MGP or ACP certification is listed among the required knowledge, with no mention of it being an asset.
  
• Target candidate: a certified project manager with more than 6 years of large-scale cross-functional projects, who has already led a platform replacement or integration in a financial institution or risk context. The person must be able to speak the language of finance (derivatives, accounting, risk) with business teams, without being a domain specialist.
  

Requirements

Required:

• More than 6 years in project management in large-scale contexts
  
• PMP / MGP / ACP certifications
  
• Experience in a risk management context and/or in a financial institution
  
• Experience in the financial sector
  
• Basic knowledge of finance: financial derivatives, accounting, financial risk management
  
• Experience in a software integration and platform change project
  
• Management skills: complex contexts, communication, political acumen, collaborative culture, planning and coordinating, leadership and initiative
  

Asset:

• Master's or graduate degree in project management

• Profile mentioning project management without demonstrated accountability for budget, schedule and steering committee reporting.
  
• Profile whose projects described in the resume are small-scale or limited to a single team, with no cross-functional, multi-department project.
  
• Profile with no software integration, platform replacement or platform change project listed in the resume.
  
• Profile with no demonstrated exposure in the resume to derivatives, accounting or financial risk.
  
• PCO, project office advisor or Scrum Master profile presented as a project manager.
  
• Profile with no PMP, MGP or PMI-ACP certification listed in the resume (pending the client's answer).
